Walk Among The Stars Prom 2008


 

This year’s prom was actually fun besides the warm atmosphere and the dance floor being a tad bit small. This was my first prom since I been in high school and it was by far the best one in my opinion. The DJ played a lot of good music. If you were unable go then you really missed out on all the fun. Everyone who attended had a great time. They were all dancing, laughing and talking to everybody. It was like everybody was getting along with each other, even the people who didn’t talk to each other. In my opinion, this was by far the best prom ever. Even though it was my first one I had a blast and I think everyone did too.

Recently I interviewed Cory Smith. He is an English IV teacher at Kaufman High School and will be getting married to Kristen Adams, on March 16, 2008. He met Kristen through her cousin whom he had dated. Cory and Kristen have known each other for eight years. He proposed to her on New Year’s Eve. Kristen didn’t really expect such a wonderful surprise from Cory. He even got her parents involved to help with the proposal. Cory was on one knee behind her and to her amazement he asked her to marry him when she turned around. They hope to have two boys later on in life and live the fairy tale. We wish Cory Smith and his future wife a happy ever after! 

Prom Season Is Just Around The Corner

  Have you ever heard of the non profit organization Pretty Princess?  This newly founded organization is stationed in Terrell and founded by La Kenya Green.  The object of Pretty Princess is to make it easier on less fortunate families who do not have the income to Purchase a prom dress.  There is certain criteria that the young ladies must meet such as the household with an income of 25,000 or less or family size of 5 or more. The young ladies must have a “C” average or better.  The other wonderful thing about Pretty Princess is that it allows you to donate prom dresses, shoes, or accessories.

May 3rd
 All of these events will be held at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
February 9th drive will be held at Dr. Bruce Wood Intermediate.
March 8th drive will be held at Dr. Bruce Wood Intermediate.
